American Boychoir: Survivors of Sexual Abuse The American Boychoir, a boarding school located in Princeton, New Jersey, is for boys in fifth through eighth grade. The music these "singing boys" make is beautiful -- they perform on tour throughout the United States and abroad. While a number of alumni report that the school was a unique and positive experience, others say that as students they were subjected to unspeakable abuse. This site is for survivors of abuse, at the school and elsewhere, and is also an important site for anyone considering sending their child to the school. |

By spiritual and religious abuse, we mean abuse done in the name of, brought on by, or attributed to a belief system of the abuser or abuse from a religious leader. This can include Priests, Ministers, cult members, family members, or anyone abusing in the name of a deity or perceived deity. There is also an emphasis on those with MPD/DID, as this survival mechanism is used by many that are severely abused. |

Amy Fix Amy Fix is a singer-songwriter based in New York City. Amy writes hilarious, quirky, earnest teen love odes to the girls she loved when she went to High School High in Anytown, USA. She's the wholesome poster-child of bisexuality. Amy Fix is also a singer of healing songs and an inspiring speaker on the subject of overcoming childhood sexual abuse, rape, and incest. She has been a keynote speaker at conferences for sexual abuse survivors, has given classroom lectures at colleges, has held workshops for healing communities, and has given sermons at churches. In these venues, she sings her healing songs and tells her own story of being mercilessly abused and rising above and beyond it like a phoenix from the fire. She has an uncanny ability to present her process of healing in a logical format, making it easy for others to learn from her journey. Amy’s talks have helped countless trauma survivors and members of helping professions to learn in-depth about overcoming the effects of sexual trauma. |

Abandoned Beliefs Abandoned Beliefs is my offering to those suffering with anorexia. It is my sincere hope that sharing my recovery will lend support to those who seek it. Recovery is a process that often feels unbearable; I acknowledge this. However, the torture of anorexia is equally unbearable. The difference is this: Struggling through recovery yeilds gifts: the disovery of self, peace and contentment. Anorexia's only offering is imprisonment and death--of heart, of soul, of self. There is an incredible sense of peace and freedom awaiting those who bravely endure the trials of recovery. I know, for peace fills my life each day--I am free! |

We have easy-to-read lessons covering these and other questions about HIV and AIDS, along with summaries of all the approved and experimental treatments. Andrea's Voice Andrea Lynn Smeltzer, 19, was trained in opera, enjoyed the theater, was an avid dancer, a masterful jewelry-maker and poet. After studying in Spain for a year at the age of fourteen, she spoke Spanish fluently. At the time of her death she was studying German, with a plan to master Japanese next. Prior to college, Andrea was elected president of her high school’s Amnesty International group and was an outspoken advocate for human rights. She was the representative chosen to present the student petitions to the Guatemalan consulate in San Francisco in 1996. At Pitzer College she was awarded the prestigious Fletcher Jones Scholarship, worked as a Resident Assistant and Mentor, majored in International Business and Politics—and looked forward to saving the world. She died tragically after thirteen months of bulimic behaviors on June 16, 1999. |
